NLC entires, final reminders, banquet Sunday!
Hi Riptide Families,
Conference week is finally here! I’ve attached our final entries, the Northland Conference (NLC) Meet Information, and a Conference Cheat Sheet to help you and your swimmer prepare for the biggest meet of the season. Please take a few minutes to review all three documents so you’re familiar with your swimmer’s events, the meet schedule & important information, and helpful tips for a successful week.
We had a fantastic week of practices with all of our groups, and the swimmers are looking strong, focused, and ready to finish the season on a high note!
Practice Schedule
- Monday: Regular practice times and groups.
- Tuesday: Practice for all Monday finals qualifiers, Tuesday night competitors, and all free relay swimmers.
- Wednesday: Practice for all finals qualifiers and all free relay swimmers.
9:30–10:30 AM: 9–12 Age Group
10:15–11:00 AM: 8 & Under
11:00 AM–12:00 PM: 13 & Up
Pink Out Reminder
Conference week is Pink Out every day! We encourage all swimmers and families to wear their pink Riptide gear or any pink clothing each day to show our team spirit. Let’s fill the stands with pink and cheer our swimmers on all week long!
Relay Reminder
All relays listed in the entry document are tentative and may change based on individual performances during prelims. Our coaching staff will make adjustments as needed to put our swimmers and team in the best position for success during finals.
Conference Preparation
Please make sure your swimmer arrives prepared with extra goggles, caps, and a backup suit, just in case. There will not be a swim vendor on-site this year, so families should not plan on purchasing equipment at the meet.
We spent time talking with the swimmers at practice today about many of the tips included on the Conference Cheat Sheet, including packing suggestions, snack ideas, hydration, and pre- and post-race planning. Your support at home makes a huge difference in helping your swimmer be at their best.
Starting NOW, encourage your swimmer to make smart choices that will set them up for success next week. That means staying hydrated, eating well, getting plenty of sleep, and maybe avoiding any adventurous trampoline tricks or spending all day at the water park in the heat. I may have even encouraged a little extra time on the couch with movies or video games—anything to help them relax and conserve energy ;)! With the forecast calling for very hot weather, the preparation they do this weekend will make a big difference once Conference begins.
Team Banquet Reminder
Don’t forget our End-of-Season Team Banquet is Sunday evening at 6:30 PM at St. Therese in the Wooldridge Room (located on the backside of the main church). Signs will be posted to help guide you to the room. There will be Johnny C’s Deli & Pasta — the perfect carb load before swims on Monday! We can’t wait to celebrate an incredible season with all of our Riptide families!
Thank you for all of your support throughout the season. We are so excited to watch our swimmers compete and represent the Riptides at Conference. Let’s finish the season strong! Go Riptides!
